These Wilwood Billet Superlite 4 calipers feature FEA modeling and stress analysis technology. They also feature a reinforced radial transition between the piston housing body and the solid bridge. That is combined with a full body-length reinforcement rib to give them the highest resistance to deflection and separation under load. Four high-strength steel bridge bolts and a fifth center bridge bolt further add to their superior clamping efficiency, while providing easy access to the brake pads. Superlite 4 calipers are available with stainless steel or Thermolock pistons and equipped with Wildwoods’ SRS stainless steel bridge plates. The SRS plates eliminate the bridge wear caused by pad gouging and extend the service life of the caliper body. The spring-loaded action of the SRS plates also eliminates pad rattle and dampens the vibration harmonics that contribute to squeal under braking. All SL4 series calipers use a big differential bore four-piston design. The 1.88" / 1.75" piston sizes provide the largest effective piston clamping area of any model in the Superlite series. |

Showing a new direction inspired by Scandinavian design, Volvo displayed a concept vehicle at the Detroit Auto Show that previews the new S60 sedan, due in 18 months. The car has a new face--with angled headlamps, a coupe roofline and no B-pillar--and an interior with the "environment of a modern Scandinavian living room," said Steve Mattin, Volvo senior vice president of design. The car's more emotional look is part of a longer-term strategy to give Volvo a more exciting image in the United States through changes in product design and marketing, said Stephen Odell, CEO of Volvo Car Corp.
