Peugeot 208 GTI (2012) first official pictures
Mon, 03 Sep 2012You might well be fed up with Peugeot's recent hot hatch efforts being compared in vain to the iconic 205 GTI, but Peugeot is so confident they've got it right at last with the 208, they're likening it to the iconic Eighties pocket rocket. Kicking out 197bhp, the 208 GTI is also usefully lighter than its 207 predecessor, helping acceleration and efficiency stats... 2011 Peugeot 508: Paris Motor Show 2010
Sat, 02 Oct 2010Peugeo 508 Paris Well, you wouldn’t expect Peugeot to forget to bring along their replacement for the Peugeot 407 (not to mention the ‘Only sells in France’ 607) to their home motor show, so the Peugeot stand got not just the saloon version of the new Peugeot 508 but a 508 Estate too. We already know that Peugeot is going to throw almost every engine – petrol and diesel – it has in its arsenal at the 508. so you’ll be able to grab a 508 with anything from a 1.6 litre e-HDi FAP to a 2.2 litre HDi FAP 204bhp.
Subaru WRX STI beats Tony Pond’s Isle of Man lap record
Fri, 10 Jun 2011Mark Higgins beats the TT course in to submission Tony Pond was a rally driver in the 1970s and ’80s, and he was rather good. Good enough to give the likes of Jimmy McRae a spanking from time to time and to drive in umpteen works cars, from Ford to Rover via Datsun. But Tony Pond is probably best remembered for piloting a Rover 827 Vitesse round the Isle of Man TT Circuit in 1990 at an average speed of over 100mph, the first time that had been done.
