D8-4 Rear Caliper

D8-4 Rear calipers are a direct bolt on replacement for the OE factory 4 piston rear calipers on all 1965-82 Corvettes. Forged billet aluminum bodies, stainless steel pistons, and high temperature seals put an end to the rust, bore pitting, and seal failures that plague the original cast iron caliper design.

D8-4 calipers mount in the stock location over stock rotors and use the original type D8 brake pads. These calipers fit inside 1967 and later production steel rally wheels and most of the later model alloy wheels. Original steel “JK” code wheels from 1965-66, and some aftermarket alloy replica wheels, will requires a 3/16” or thicker wheel spacer for clearance.

D8-4 calipers use the same overall piston volumes as the original calipers. Other than a new flexline with an 1/8”-27 NPT end for the new aluminum caliper, no other changes such as master cylinder output or front to rear bias adjustment are necessary.

D8-4 calipers are the product of Wilwood’s in-house FEA design and 3-D modeling technology. With its unyielding strength and superior piston design, the D8-4 generates positive pedal response and high clamping efficiency with a substantial weight savings.

After a miss with the Sebring, Chrysler resets its upscale mission

Mon, 22 Nov 2010

With the 2011 200 sedan, due in December, the Chrysler brand is taking another shot at the vast mid-sized sedan market, a target it missed badly with the Sebring. The 200, derived from the Sebring, resets the brand mission: refined design, luxury touches inside, a quiet ride and responsive handling--at affordable prices. The approach will be shared by the reworked Chrysler Town & Country minivan, also due in December, and the reworked 2012 Chrysler 300 sedan, which arrives in March.

Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe

Tue, 09 Jan 2007

By Ben Oliver Motor Shows 09 January 2007 05:53 Drophead Coupe makes waves in Detroit CAR Online brought you the first pictures of the new open-top Phantom and exclusive video footage last month, but this £260,000 monster still stole the Detroit show when Rolls-Royce chairman Ian Robertson officially unveiled it in what will be by far its biggest market. The 100EX concept on which the production car is based stole the 2004 Geneva show too, and features which we all thought would only be seen on the concept, such as the teak ‘decking’ on the hood cover and the rear-hinged suicide doors, have made it to the finished car. Production starts at Goodwood this summer.

Canadian Grand Prix (2010) RESULT

Mon, 14 Jun 2010

The Canadian Grand Prix 2010 In truth, there were five contenders for the Canadian Grand Prix this year. Both McLarens, both Red Bulls and Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari. In the end it was tyres as much as anything that decided the win – a one-two for McLaren with Hamilton taking the honours and Alonso making up the podium.
