The Porsche Macan, Porsche’s baby Cayenne based on the underpinnings of the Audi Q5, is a big deal for Porsche. Having discovered that an SUV could revive their fortunes after they launched the Cayenne a decade ago, the smaller, lower-priced Macan should give both Porsche’s sales and profits a big boost.

The off-road racing accomplishments of Ivan "Ironman" Stewart might never be matched: 82 major wins in desert racing, 17 of them in the crash-and-bang Mickey Thompson stadium series, three Baja 1000s and others too numerous to squeeze in here over a career that spanned 30 years. The thing that really sets him apart is that, while competitors shared driving duties over the long desert courses, Stewart did the vast majority of them alone, with no relief drivers--just him and the dirty, dusty desert. But even legends want to retire someday.

Roush unveils two 540-horsepower Mustangs

The go-fast guys at Roush tore the cover off two 540-hp 2010 Ford Mustangs today. The range-topping Stage 3 Mustang will be limited to 103 copies for 2010, while the 540RH will slot in as minimalistic approach to the iconic Pony Car for customizers. They both launch this fall.
