Compared with its high-tech-center neighbors--Bellevue and Redmond--the town of Kirkland, Wash., is relatively unknown. But Kirkland is where the vibrant car-collector scene in the area is shown at its best each fall at the Kirkland Concours d'Elegance. And while you may not have heard of Kirkland, you've probably heard of its famous Pacific Northwest weather--not the best, you'd think, for outdoor car shows.

We know that sales of electric cars (EV) are woeful, and that nothing more than a handful of private buyers have actually bought in to the dream that is an electric car future. With that in mind it’s no surprise that the enormous list price of the Citroen C-Zero EV and Peugeot iOn EV have been slashed by £6,939, bringing the price down to a still silly £26,216, although, at least for now, you can still get the taxpayer bribe of £5,000 bringing the price you pay down to £21,216.

The Saab 9-3 Convertible Independence Edition Last week we ran a story about Saab’s Concept for the Geneva Motor Show, which we expect to be a concept version of the new Saab 9-3, but could be a first look at the smaller Saab 9-2. What we did say in that report was that apart from the Saab Concept we would see the debut of the Saab 9-5 SportCombi and a couple of limited edition Saab 9-3s – one of them a convertible. Well, with a week or so to go to the Geneva Motor Show, the limited edition Saab 9-3 convertible has leaked out through the well-informed Saabs United as the Saab 9-3 Convertible Independence Edition.
