BMW i8 stars at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show

Four years after it first appeared at Frankfurt as the Vision EfficientDynamics concept, the BMW i8 super-hybrid has finally been revealed in full production at the 2013 show. Is it enough to spoil the Porsche 918 Spyder’s debut? Er, no.

Porsche 918 Spyder here in 2013, says new CEO

New Porsche president and chief executive officer Matthias Müller has confirmed that the new 918 Spyder hybrid supercar is on track for a 2013 delivery. Speaking to CAR at the 2010 Paris motor show, Müller said the engineering programme was on time and that the 918 would stay faithful to the concept car revealed in March this year. ‘We are doing [engineering] concept work on the 918 at the moment and will finish at the end of 2010,’ said Müller.

Eagle builds a new E-type speedster

The speedster, commissioned by enthusiast Dr Rick Velaj, uses a standard 1966 E-type as its base. Eagle then rebuilt it to a new sky-high specification, clad it in a one-off aluminium bodyshell, fitted it with its Supersport options (stiffer suspension, uprated brakes and modern tyres) and strapped in its own highly developed 4.7-litre straight six.
