Xcarlink Usb Mp3 Player Integration Kit For Mazda (pre 2011) Part Xclu-maz on 2040-parts.com

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States
Condition:Used

Taken out of my 2006 Mazdaspeed 6, but compatible with other Mazda pre 2011 models: RX-8, MX-5, CX-7, CX-9  This is the model XcarLink V8.

I used it for about a year and the bluetooth handsfree kit is included.  Very easy to install, only one cable to connect to the back of the factory stereo.  Removing the cup holder, gear shift and two phillips screws is all it takes in the Speed6.  I'd imagine it wouldn't be much more difficult in other models.  Shipped with original box.  I do not have the instructions, but it connects to the external CD changer port and it's very obvious which one that is when you have the stereo out.  It plays files from USB or SD cards.  I used a 64GB micro SD card in an SD card adapter and that worked fine.  Each folder functions as a CD.  The Speed6 supported up to 10, but how many folders varies by model.  After the 10 CD folders, it will only detect up to 12 sub folder below, so it is best to put all the files directly in the CD folders.  Instructions are on the xcarlink and rpmstore sites linked here.

This was purchased from therpmstore and the description below is from that site (please see their special install notes to make sure it is compatible with your car, no returns accepted):

eBay will not allow me to include the link, but if you search for XCarLink-USB-MP3-Player-Integration-Kit-for-Mazda on Google, it should be the first link.

The XCarLink (formerly AudioLink) USB MP3 Player Integration Kit will revolutionize the way you listen to music in your late-model Mazda! Simply plug in a USB flash drive or SD card and the unit will play any MP3 or WMA files stored on the drive or card through your car's factory stereo system. The unit will automatically turn on when you start your car, and will even resume playing right where you left off. It allows you to use your steering wheel controls to change songs and it also features a 1/8" stereo jack to allow you to input other sources, such as satellite radio.

Features:

  • Exclusive built-in high quality MP3/WMA decoder.
  • Power on automatic play function.
  • No battery required.
  • Direct connection with CD-quality sound.
  • 1/8" stereo jack for other auxiliary input.
  • Allows the use of the steering wheel controls to change songs.
  • Built-in SD card reader.
  • Bluetooth handsfree kit (compatible with any Bluetooth mobile phone; outputs phone call through speakers when XCarLink is in use)

Chrysler recalls Wrangler, Compass and Patriot

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

Chrysler Group said today it will recall more than 220,000 units of the Jeep Wrangler to fix a transmission flaw and 409,000 units of the Jeep Compass and Patriot worldwide to fix a software glitch that could stop airbags and seatbelts from working in a crash. The recalls add to a growing list of safety problems at Chrysler, which stunned the auto industry this week by taking the rare step of rebuffing a recall request from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. On Tuesday, Chrysler refused to recall 2.7 million units of the 1993-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-07 Jeep Liberty, claiming that the vehicles were built in compliance with safety standards and are not more accident-prone than other vehicles of the time.

Pulsar Bursts Onto Family Hatch Scene

Wed, 21 May 2014

IT’S GOING to get ugly in the fiercely competitive family hatchback market soon, as Nissan has decided to rejoin the fray with its newly launched Pulsar model. Clearly aiming at the likes of Volkswagen’s Golf and Ford’s Focus, Nissan bosses are already talking up their new challenger ahead of the car’s autumn debut. Styled to complement the popular Qashqai, the Pulsar promises to major on quality, refinement and cabin space plus boast a raft of hi-tech kit to make the ownership experience safer and more enjoyable.

There's something your author has noticed about very good product designers. They're essentially children. Yes, they may front like adults, but they're mired in that young world of possibility, always asking, “It can't work like this?
