Black Stig Back!

The Stig Saga rolls on! As we reported a few weeks ago, White Stig (the Top Gear test driver) was outed as Ben Collins, and we speculated, as did everyone else, whether this would be the end of  White Stig. After all, when Black Stig was outed as Perry McCarthy he was unceremoniously killed-off by drowning when his XJS flew off the end of HMS Invincible.

Top Gear’s James May crashes

James May has a mishap with a hot air balloon and a caravan in Cambridgeshire But now it’s Captain Slow’s turn to have  a bit of a coming together, Appropriately, considering his apparent aversion for the flamboyant and reckless, he managed to do it in a hot air balloon. Which means it was another of Top Gear’s mad races, this time with May in a caravan attached to a hot air balloon over the Cambridgeshire countryside, and the Hamster in a Lambo. The hot air balloon was meant to land on the village green at Eltisley in Cambridgeshire.

The interest was pretty much unprecedented, and one or two big car web sites crashed during the day of the launch because of huge numbers of visitors looking for information on the new XJ. We didn’t crash (thankfully) but our traffic doubled on the day, and thousands of you watched the launch live on Cars UK.
