Jaguar F-Type to get high profile dealer handover ceremony this week

Now the time is nigh, and the first F-Types will be heading for Jaguar dealers around the UK on Thursday (18th April), but they won’t be going on a fleet of transporters as usual. Instead, Jaguar is making an event out of a normally quite prosaic handover. Jaguar dealers from all round the UK will congregate at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry to find 59 new F-Types arranged in the shape of a giant ‘F’.

The most recent advance in vehicle safety has to be the autonomous emergency braking system (AEB) – a sophisticated suite of sensors and electronics that monitors objects in front of your car, automatically applying the brakes for you if it senses you’re heading to hit something. Up until now these auto-brake features have not been rated, but ahead of a new 2014 test that will include AEB systems in its overall safety star scoring, Euro NCAP has put the some of the vehicles already equipped with this technology through their paces. Toyota has released the first images of its FT-86 Open and i-Road concepts ahead of their debuts at the upcoming Geneva motor show. The carmaker's FT-86 Open concept previews a potential future development of the GT86 sports coupe. Toyota is using the concept to gauge public reaction while carrying out engineering tests on a prototype.
