Based around a transparent touch screen, the CPT002 phone combines both existing technologies and software with genuine advances in electronics to create a 'realistic vision of luxury mobile phones', the company says. This year saw another batch of high-quality entries from all over North America and the judges were understandably hard-pressed to pick out just a handful in each of the four brand categories. The judges gathered at GM's Design Center at the automaker's headquarters in Warren, Michigan, where they whittled down the shortlist.

Not restarting is not exactly a safety issue, so as long as you can actually get your nice new Nissan LEAF to start in the first place there’s no chance it will pack up on you mid-journey (unless you run out of electrickery). But having stumped up at least £10k more than an equivalent ICE car would cost for your LEAF, the least you should be able to expect is it to do what it says on the tin without packing up.
