The following list of casting and forging numbers may help in determining your degree of interest in a particular part.  The information came from the internet and shows several forging numbers for most later engines.  This info is for your entertainment we do not guarantee it.

Important note on GMC head and block interchange
There were several combinations of pistons - flat-top and domed - to match a variety of head configurations. All GMC heads have the same bolt pattern and port spacing, so any head will fit any block - BUT unless you have the correct pistons to match the head chamber, you will have problems such as inadequate compression ratio or worse, valves hitting top of pistons. Be sure you use the correct combination!

'Transport poverty' rising - RAC

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

THE LEAST WELL-OFF families are slipping further into "transport poverty", according to an RAC Foundation survey. The poorest car-owning households spent at least 31% of their disposable incomes on buying and running a vehicle in 2012, the foundation said, up from 27% the year before. The figures, based on data obtained from the Office for National Statistics, showed that in 2012 the poorest families had a maximum weekly expenditure of £167, of which £51.40 went on a car.

2013 Aston Martin Vanquish in the wild on video

Thu, 14 Jun 2012

The new 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish – Project Am 310 from Villa D’Este – has been caught on video in Italy in production guise. The story of the replacement for the Aston Martin DBS – which we now know is to be the new Aston Martin Vanquish – has been playing out over the last month or so. We reported at the start of May that the DBS name would be dropped and then exclusively revealed that it would debut at Villa D’Este as the Project Am 310 to try and mop up the honours in the Concept Category (it actually lost out to the Alfa 4C).

Volkswagen e-Up makes some noise

Mon, 23 Dec 2013

NOW HERE’S a left-field solution to the problem of silent electric cars going unnoticed by pedestrians in town. Volkswagen has taken its new e-Up electric city car to Stockholm, fitted with hidden speakers, a microphone and a beatbox artist, Fatih Sahin, on the rear bench seat. And they filmed it.
