Up for grabs is a used Chris Craft 283 Distributor from an early 60's 283 flywheel forward engine.

This is not a conventional SBC distributor as it mounts at the front of the engine and is driven by a gear on the front of the camshaft. The firing order is 18724365 which means it should be reverse rotation.

Comes with coil/bracket and transpo box...everthing in pictures.

This is an Autolite distributor model#  IBB 4301 A 12S.
Shaft spins freely and gear looks good, may work fine but definitely should be good core for rebuild. The drive gear is still on the engine and can be included if needed...just remind me if purchased.


  I will ship with the used distributor cap to protect the inside.

Volkswagen launches Car-Net in-car assistance system

Volkswagen has launched an in-car assistance system which will offer a number of convenience and diagnostic features. Not too dissimilar from some other systems already on the market -- such as BMW Assist, Mercedes-Benz'sMbrace, and GM's On-Star -- VW's system will offer roadside assistance, service appointment scheduling, and automatic crash notification. The latter triggers a call from the vehicle to a Car-Net customer specialist when the airbags in the car are deployed, which will then connect the occupants with a local public safety answering point, which can send emergency vehicles to the scene if needed.

Car Sounds Music by Mark Marrington Yorkshire composer Mark Marrington has created ‘Dance Music with a vehicular Twist’ in a composition using car sounds. Making ‘music’ from car sounds is nothing new.
