Video shows voice-to-text is as dangerous as actual texting
Tue, 23 Apr 2013As we cruise through Texas A&M Transportation Institute Tuesday revealed that voice-to-text apps -- which read text messages aloud and allow users to respond using their voice -- are equally as distracting as manual texting. In the test, TTI had 43 drivers complete various tasks within a closed driving course. The drivers were asked to finish one lap completely free of cell phone use.
Subaru Cross Sport Design and Viziv Evolution concepts at the Tokyo Motor Show 2013
Fri, 22 Nov 2013Subaru showed two other concepts alongside the Levorg at the Tokyo Motor Show – both of which are interesting, neither of which came with very much information. The Subaru Viziv Evolution proposes a three-motor hybrid all-wheel drive system, similar to that under development by Honda, while the Subaru Cross Sport Design concept appears to be nothing less than a shooting brake estate version of the BRZ. This 81st recurrence of the Swiss motor show not only saw Jaguar celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic E-Type and the first Italdesign vehicles created under the stewardship of Volkswagen, it also heralded a significant step forward for Car Design News' coverage of motor shows.
