Vauxhall Meriva (2010): first news and pictures

Tue, 05 Jan 2010

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 05 January 2010 00:01 The new Vauxhall Meriva is opening up entry to the suicide door club – previously the preserve of Rolls-Royces and Mazda sports cars. Unveiled today, the new Meriva mini-MPV premieres GM’s FlexDoor technology, designed to make it easier to climb in and out. Or just show off in the car park (delete according to your personal scepticism).Although available on one side of the Mini Clubman, the Meriva promises to democratise the suicide door, with prices from around £14,000 when UK sales start in June 2010.The rear-hinged back doors open to nearly 90deg and are claimed to help ease access to the Meriva – a promise we’ll check out when we sit in it at the 2010 Geneva motor show.

Mercedes E63 AMG (2009) first pictures

Tue, 31 Mar 2009

By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 31 March 2009 17:54 No, this is not an April Fool’s bad joke – this really is a 6.2-litre V8 super saloon packing 518bhp launched amid the credit crunch. Welcome to the Mercedes E63 AMG. Right, with 518bhp and 465lb ft, enough to match up with the XFR’s 503bhp and 461lb ft.

New Lotus Elite: Top-Down +video

Wed, 13 Oct 2010

New Lotus Elite (2014) Top Down I think we’ve just about got over the surprise of a New Lotus Elite dropping from a clear blue sky in the week before the Paris Motor Show. What we still haven’t completely got our heads around is the plethora of models subsequently revealed at the show itself. Yes, we were expecting the new Lotus Esprit – even if we reckoned we might have got that wrong after the New Elite showed up – but we hadn’t reckoned on the new Elan, the new Eterne and the new Elise as well (never mind a City Car concept).
