Unique and hard to find Bendix Radio Compass Indicator from a military aircraft.

Strictly for display, the compass card does easily rotate when the knob on the front fascia is turned however the needles appear to be stuck in the same position and do not move.

This item certainly shows lots of wear from many military missions.  The casing is faded discolored, scratched, dented and overall very well worn, but still all completely intact.  The compass card appears to be a bit faded and the glass lens is a bit hazy or foggy.

This piece is heavy and substantial and was certainly built to survive many military missions.

Nonetheless, for the price a neat display and conversation piece as well!

The indicator is 6 1/2 inches long and has a front fascia of 3 1/4 inches.

Please feel free to ask any questions and good luck bidding!

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Jaguar has taken the new F-Type V8 S to Jabbeke for sprint testing then on to Geneva in convoy with XK 120, C-type, D-type and E-type sports cars. So Jaguar took the F-Type off to Jabbeke, Belgium – where Jaguar’s test driver Norman Dewis managed a world record flying mile speed of 172.4mph in an XK 120 60 years ago – and put Le Mans driver Andy Wallace in the driver’s seat to see how quickly the F-Type V8 S would go. Andy had just a two mile stretch of closed road to play with the F-Type and yet managed a 0-179-0 with a clocked time of 4.2 seconds to 62mph on the way.

Sat, 05 Jun 2010

The New Saab 9-5 UK The start of 2010 saw a flurry of stories on Saab as the battle lines were drawn to see who would grab control of GM’s troublesome Swede. Eventually – after many false dawns – that fell to Dutch maker of quirky supercars Spyker who – much to the amazement of all – seem to have a very cohesive forward plan for Saab. Forward plans are all very well, but what matters in the short term is making the most of what you already have.
