Brand:Alfa Romeo Country/Region of Manufacture:Italy

I'm selling my set of valves shims for the V-6 engines. These are the original harder shims that Alfa required all V-6's to use. You can tell the difference by the harder ones have a single groove around the outside.

These shims were close to double the price of the 4 cylinder ones. In 1994 Alfa ( well really Fiat ) decide you could use the 4 cylinder shims in the V-6's. They were discontinued in 1994 and have not been available for years. They were only available in sizes 1500 to 3000.

We found that the 4 cylinder shims would actually have excessive wear on the underside of the shim after 30,000 miles. So while 4 cylinder shims will work. With the V-6 ones you will be adjusting the intake less often. They also work great in race engines.

All the shims have been ultrasonic cleaned then dried in an oven. Then they were sprayed with Boeshield which is a rust preventive. I have sorted all of them with a Mitutoyo calibrated digital gauge. There are 269 shims. A lot of them are nos and due to the ultrasonic cleaning the used are just as clean as new ones.

The shims are in an original Alfa Romeo valve shim box. This is the same shim boxes that were issued to Alfa Romeo dealers.  The box is in good condition with original magnet. The box does have some scratches on the outside from use.

I am selling several sets so look at my other ads as quantity and pricing are different.

New 2011 / 2012 Ferrari 612 is 4×4 Shooting Brake

Fri, 31 Dec 2010

The 2011 / 2012 Ferrari 612 will be a 4x4 Shooting Brake (render by Vandenbrink design) Last month we had an email in from Argentina pointing us towards spy shots published by Autoblog Argentina which seemed to be of an all wheel drive Ferrari 612. Which tied in very well with the story we ran over a year ago when we reported that a 4×4 platform for the next Ferrari 612 was a certainty, just six months after we reported Ferrari were working on four wheel drive hybrid propulsion system. But the Ferrari 4×4 setup is very different to the permanent all wheel drive system used by Lamborghini.
