Next-generation Chevy Volt to have 60-mile electric range?
Mon, 12 Aug 2013On the heels of the recently announced price cut for the 2014 Volt, General Motors chief executive Dan Akerson is suggesting that we may see a Volt with 60-mile electric range in three or four years. In an interview with Bloomberg, Akerson suggests that GM is hoping for a "significant" improvement in the extended-range Chevy's ability to run solely on electric power. “For something to be significant to me, I gotta get at least 20 percent improvement in performance," the CEO asserted.

Which is all fine and dandy – and sounds a lot better than naming the new Tomato* after past and present Mercedes – but seems an odd name to give a cumbersome crossover come SUV come BMW GT wanabee. One in six drivers admits 'bump parking'
Fri, 13 Dec 2013ALMOST one in six drivers admits to deliberately letting their car hit an adjacent one when trying to park. Known as ‘bump parking’, it means drivers simply carry on moving until they hit the car they’re heading towards. The figure rises to a shocking 26% – more than a quarter – among those living in London, with UK-wide drivers aged 18-34 recording the same statistic.
