For sale an original early 1967 Ford Mustang 289 V8 6-bolt engine block, casting number C5AE-6015E.  Date code is 7B7, (1967/February/7).

This original 289 engine came from a 1967 Mustang Coupe. This engine was also used in a variety of Ford and Mercury cars and trucks from 1965 through 1968.

The block pictured is the block you will receive.  It is very clean and looks new from the thermal cleaning and steel shot blasting at my local machine shop.  It looks as good as the day it was cast!

Purchase includes the original crank caps (5) and crank cap bolts (10). All freeze plugs and cam bearings removed during the cleaning process.  The block was inspected after cleaning and no cracks or damage was noted.  This is a great early Ford 289 engine block.  There is a small wear ridge on the cylinders, just enough to catch a finger nail.  The cylinders measure at 4.01 inches indicating it has been rebuilt only once.

This item is NOT shipped as freight.  There is less chance of damage and the item can be shipped to your door.  I took it to the UPS store for an accurate weighing and measuring; this item is heavy, 145 pounds!  It is wood crated and carefully packed in a shipping container.  Depending on location, UPS shipping may be up to $200.  The eBay UPS shipping calculator here is not accurate.  The dimensions are 31’ x 21’ x 15’ and 145 lbs.  Rut an estimate for your location directly from the UPS site or call them.  If you purchase this item please don’t pay until I send you an invoice with the correct shipping.  Otherwise I will have to refund your payment and then send you an invoice.

I don’t gouge on shipping, just what it cost me at the UPS store.  I put a lot of work and extra money in packing this engine block but it will pay off when it arrives to you undamaged.

If desired local pick-up is available, (no shipping fee if this option is used). Shipping is to the lower 48 US States only. If you have questions, please contact me - before purchase - for additional information.

Honest seller, all parts are guaranteed to be as described.  Like everything I sell, I'll stand behind the part if you don't think it is represented accurately.  With that said, this block is original and used; there is no warranty, implied or otherwise.

Full payment must be made within 3-business days after receiving invoice with shipping cost.

Packed carefully and ready to ship now.  International buyers please use the Global Shipping Program.

Please contact me if you have questions.  Thanks for looking!

Has the McLaren P1 lapped the Nurburgring in a record 6 minutes 47 seconds?

Tue, 22 Oct 2013

Has the McLaren P1 lapped the Nurburgring in a record 6 minutes 47 seconds? We knew McLaren were back at the Nurburgring with the P1 in an attempt to make good on Ron Dennis’s promise that the P1 would lap the ‘Ring in under 7 minutes. It appears McLaren has already tried to set a sub-7 minute time with the P1 but could only manage 7:04s so, with the firts P1s now in customer hands – and full performance specs revealed – the final piece of the jigsaw (apart form a Top Gear lap record) is to set a great time at the Nurburgring.

A look at Jaguar future products

Jaguar will launch the all-new F-Type roadster next year as a halo car for the English brand. The F-Type takes styling cues from Jaguar's iconic E-Type from the 1960s and is expected to compete with cars such as the Porsche 911, said Andy Goss, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover North America. "We have to make sure the F-Type has an emotional pull similar to the Porsche 911," Goss said.
