Mustang Boss 302

From Racing Legend to Modern Muscle Car

Boss 302: The name invokes visions of stripes, spoilers, and Parnelli Jones screaming to a Trans-Am championship in a School Bus Yellow Mustang. When Ford needed a muscular Mustang to homologate a special engine for Trans-Am racing and to compete against the Camaro Z/28 on the street, the Boss 302 met the challenge—and became a legend in muscle car and racing history.
For over 40 years, Ford waited for the right Mustang and the right 5.0-liter engine to bring back the Boss 302 name for a modern reincarnation of the original. Like its 1969–1970 predecessor, the 2012 Boss 302 Mustang was bred for racing, by racing.

Donald Farr’s Boss Mustang: From Racing Legend to Modern Muscle Car is the complete story of the Boss 302 Mustang, from trans-am victor to modern muscle.

Donald Farr has been on staff at Mustang Monthly Magazine for 30 years. In addition to his magazine work, Donald authored Mustang Boss 302: Ford’s Trans-Am Ponycar and co-wrote How to Restore Your Mustangwith Mustang Monthly founder Larry Dobbs. He currently owns the 1966 Mustang GT that his grandfather purchased new.

Lamborghini 50th anniversary collection at Concorso Italiano 2013

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

There was no way the Concorso Italiano team was going to let Lamborghini’s 50th birthday slip by unnoticed, which is why this year there was a big effort made to get as many examples of the marque there was possible. While there were few real rarities, models from the past 25 years were there in big numbers; once again, the rarities will be out in force at the Pebble Beach Concours on Sunday… If you wanted to check out a Lamborghini timeline, the one here was pretty good. But there was no LM-002 4x4, which was a shame.
