Coventry University's ‘Selected Works' show, held from Monday 23 to Sunday 29 June in the Transport Museum in Coventry, UK, showcased an array of projects created by students in the MDes Transport Design, BA Transport and Product Design, BA Automotive Design and BA Boat Design progams. Seat completes industry's largest solar panel installation

SEAT HAS completed construction of the largest solar panel installation in the automotive industry. The huge 'Seat al Sol' array at the firm’s Martorell plant outside Barcelona is the size of 40 football pitches and generates 15 million kilowatt hours of power per year courtesy of the reliable Spanish sunshine. The electricity produced is enough to account for a quarter of the amount needed to build a year’s allocation of Leons, reducing the factory’s energy bills significantly and saving 7,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Koenigsegg to celebrate 100th car with special model

Koenigsegg, Swedish makers of stunning supercars, are planning a very special model to celebrate their 100th car. Christian Von Koenigsegg founded his eponymous supercar company back in 1994, but it took until 2002 for the first customer car to be delivered. That first car was the Koenigsegg CC8 (a development of Christian’s original CC prototype) which featured bespoke everything – from chassis to suspension and brakes – but utilised a Ford 4.7 litre V8.
