Video shows voice-to-text is as dangerous as actual texting
Tue, 23 Apr 2013As we cruise through Texas A&M Transportation Institute Tuesday revealed that voice-to-text apps -- which read text messages aloud and allow users to respond using their voice -- are equally as distracting as manual texting. The Grand National Roadster Show is like church, with chrome trim
Fri, 29 Jan 2010You can argue all day about which is the best and most influential hot-rod show in the world, but we'll take the Grand National Roadster Show, which will be held this weekend at the Fairplex in Pomona, Calif. This is the 61st running of what grizzled veterans have simply called "Oakland," after the city that hosted it for its first half-century. This is the seventh year the show has been held in the Art Deco halls and sprawling avenues of the Fairplex, all of which will be under sunny skies and balmy temps all weekend.
New COPO Camaro concept hits the drag strip
Fri, 16 Dec 2011This Friday video goodness features a white 2012 COPO Camaro Stock Eliminator Concept on the drag strip. As Autoweek contributor Patrick Paternie explained during the SEMA show, the new COPO (Central Office Production Order) nameplate pays homage to the rare high-powered 1969 Camaros created through a loophole in the special-order program. This enabled dealers to specify a 427 engine--COPO 9560, the aluminum ZL1, or COPO 9561, the Corvette-based L72 iron block--despite the Camaro technically being limited to the 396-cubic-inch powerplant.
