This Volvo Penta Engine Instrument Kit is made with The Magnetic Pick-up Tachometer that hooks up to a magnetic pickup sensor which counts gear teeth. Here neither of the wires is grounded to block. They are both routed up to the tachometer as a twisted pair. One hooks to the signal terminal and the other to the ground terminal on back of the tachometer. The switch is set to the approximate number of teeth that the sensor sees on each engine revolution. Another adjustment on the back allows fine tuning to the exact number of teeth.
The label is marked in ranges generally from the 80 to 200 gear teeth.
This Programmable tachometer will also function with a tachometer signal generator which is spun by the engines' mechanical take-off. One of the signal generator's wires in grounded to the engine and the other is connected to the tach's signal terminal.
Please check the type of RPM signal your engine has, we have all three tachometers available for purchase.

Closed-road racing made legal in the UK

Fri, 11 Jul 2014

Could the UK host its own Mille Miglia? By Adam Binnie Motoring Issues 11 July 2014 15:52 A London Grand Prix on closed streets or even a Pikes Peak style hill-climb in the Lake District could now by possible after the Government approved plans to allow motorsport events on public roads. It is hoped that the decision to allow staged rallies, hill climbs and trials of speed on closed-road street circuits will give the country’s motorsport industry a jump start. Prime minister David Cameron made the announcement today while touring the new Formula One Williams factory in Oxfordshire.

McLaren DOESN’T stop production of the MP4-12C to fix problems.

Sat, 08 Oct 2011

McLaren MP4-12C problems haven't stopped production The McLaren MP4-12C is McLaren’s first road car in almost twenty years, and it appears that the new 458 competitor from Woking has a few problems. Reports have been cropping up for some weeks that MP4-12C owners have been plagued (well, plagued is harsh) by a raft of problems including a battery drainage issue (something many cars suffer from early on), headlight condensation and glitchy door operation. McLaren are adamant none of the issues affecting the 12C are safety related and it is therefore continuing to build the cars, so although there will be a delay for some new owners in delivery, the issues should cause no long term back log in deliveries.

Renault Kangoo ZE electric concept at 2009 Frankfurt motor show

Tue, 15 Sep 2009

By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 15 September 2009 12:00 This is the Renault Kangoo ZE, just unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show. It’s a preview of the Kangoo-based electric commercial vehicle that Renault will sell from 2011. That white paint is practical – it’s heat-reflective and helps to prevent temperature fluctuations, as does the Thermos-style double-layer bodywork.
