    MHub801 Features

    Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL)

Using its onboard Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver the MHub provides accurate location information. Additional information includes trip data, driver identification, input status, output control, speeding and odometer.

    Driver Management

Active monitoring of abusive driver behaviour. Monitored parameters include excessive idle, harsh braking, excessive acceleration, speeding, over-revving and free wheeling. The analyzed information provides the operator with a valuable tool to minimize fuel and maintenance costs while maximizing safety.

    Zone Management

Monitoring of entry and exit of user defined geofences. Geofences downloaded to the MHub can be categorized (i.e. customers, fuel stations, depots, etc.,) and linked to user defined actions. An example would be the unlocking of the cargo doors on entering a customer location.

    Power Modes

Using the latest technologies, the MHub has the ability to intelligently switch between various power modes while maintaining full functional ability. The device can reduce its power consumption to levels well below industry standards, allowing a vehicle to stand for weeks without being driven, while not excessively draining the vehicle battery.

    Least Cost Routing

Utilizing a proprietary intelligent messaging engine, the MHub selects the least cost data transmission based on user defined parameters of location (i.e. roaming status), data priority and availability of communication bearers. An example would be the switching of the communication method from GPRS to SMS for high priority events when roaming while storing all the low priority unsent data and resuming transmission via GPRS of the low priority data when returning to home network.

    Mobile Resource Identification

Drivers and any other accompanied mobile workforce can be uniquely identified and matched with a user defined activity profile (APF). For example a driver’s APF can be limited to specific days of the week, times of the day, and location. On identification of the driver the MHub will determine whether a given driver may be allowed to use the vehicle based on the allocated APF. All events relating to the vehicle usage shall be associated with the authenticated driver.

    Dynamic Trigger Configuration (DTC)

Utilizing an intelligent proprietary Dynamic Trigger Configuration (DTC) engine, any user defined event and an associated action can be configured and applied to the MHub unit over the air, providing an easily adaptable platform to dynamically changing requirements.

    Onboard Navigation Assistance

Real time GPS data is channelled to 3rd party navigation systems.

2015 Ford S-Max revealed – debuts at 2014 Paris Motor Show

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

The new Ford S-Max debuts at Paris and goes on sale next summer The Ford S-Max Concept arrived at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year as Ford worked hard to prove they really did have new cars on the way, despite the huge delay in delivering the new Ford Mondeo to Europe – with which the new S-Max shares its underpinnings – and now we get the real deal – the 2015 Ford S-Max. Looking very like the S-Max Concept, the new S-Max is the same size as the outgoing model but gets an evolutionary redesign complete with Ford’s ‘Aston Martin’ grill and some funky headlights, with the A-Pillars further back, higher beltline, bigger shoulders at the back and a set of slim tail lights at the back separated by a chrome strip. It all conspires to make the new S-Max sportier and more appealing.

Mon, 09 Sep 2013

The Rapid Spaceback - it sounds like the kind of name you'd give to the world's fastest car. Or some kind of spaceship. But no, the Rapid Spaceback is the latest offering from Skoda and it's making its debut right here at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.

£70 fine for seven-second parking gaff

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

A CHARITY worker has learned a pricey lesson after being fined £70 by a council for a seven-second stop on zig-zag lines outside a school. Joyce Sale was dropping off charity concert leaflets at the primary school when she was captured by a parking camera car operated by Birmingham City Council. She then received a council letter in the post with details of the penalty notice, working out at £10 for every second her car was stopped.
