COMPLETE TRANSMISSION WITH NO BROKEN PARTS. PICS AND DESCRIPTION TELL THE STORY
Brand:GM SAGINAW Interchange Part Number:BUY AMERICAN Manufacturer Part Number:3858986 Country/Region of Manufacture:United States

Offered is a Used Factory Chevy Three Speed Saginaw Manual Transmission, Main Case PN 3858986. Tailshaft Cover is PN 3860042, Front Bearing Retainer is PN 3859033, Side Cover is 3919365. All early 1967 date codes.

This is a complete transmission with NO broken parts. I drained the fresh gear oil and checked the bottom of the case. There were NO fragments and NO shavings of any kind. I removed the tail shaft and the side cover and took pictures. No guessing games. The case is not cracked and there are no stripped threads.

The pictures show that there is no damage to any internal parts, however I'm not a tranny expert and don't know how worn the gears or synchros are. If you need more pics let me know. I rotated the shaft many times and inspected all components all the way around finding NO damage.

The main shafts rotated easily before I removed the tailshaft. Upon trying to reinstall the tailshaft the main gear assembly was moved out of alignment and I wasn't able to reassmble the tailshaft and seat it correctly with the assembly still spinning freely. If you know anything about transmissions, you know this doesn't mean it's broken, it just needs to be correctly reassembled. The C clip for the rear bearing that I removed to remove the tailshaft for pictures is included and will be shipped in a plastic bag with the tranny.

I have this listed as parts or not working as I do not know if it will run well as is.

2013 Nissan Pathfinder arrives – but not for the UK & Europe

Thu, 02 Aug 2012

Nissan has revealed a new, slicker Pathfinder for 2013, but the UK and Europe won’t be getting it. Nissan started teasing the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder even before the old year ended, with plans to show a concept at the Detroit Show in January. Which they did.

Auto-safety history gets its place in the Smithsonian

Thu, 15 Jul 2010

Smithsonian museum officials say their new collection of auto-safety objects dating to the 1930s is about America's love affair with its cars. But really it's about our passion for, well, staying alive. While some enthusiasts might question whether their cars should be braking for them, it's hard to quarrel with most of this technology.

Peugeot Epure concept (2006): first official pictures

Fri, 08 Sep 2006

By Chris Chilton First Official Pictures 08 September 2006 00:01 The lowdown Peugeot calls it a concept but let's not kid ourselves: this is the 207CC. A successor to the 206CC, the car that brought folding metal hardtops to the woman in the street, next spring's production CC will look almost identical to the Epure. But don't expect to find the concept's engine under the showroom CC's nose: the Epure employs hydrogen power.
