Ford and Dodge upgrade police patrol vehicles for Michigan State Police test day
Fri, 14 Sep 2012Ford touted the addition of its 3.7-liter V6 engine to its Police Interceptor sedan, and Dodge boasted about the new Charger Pursuit with all-wheel drive on Thursday. That can only mean that the Michigan State Police force is doing its yearly vehicle testing, and two of the Detroit Three are trying to get noticed. It looks like Aston Martin could be getting AMG/Mercedes platforms too
Wed, 30 Oct 2013Mercedes/AMG platforms would make the Lagonda SUV a reality We’d been expecting Aston Martin to get access to Mercedes platforms ever since the Lagonda SUV – based on the underpinnings of the Mercedes GL - arrived in all its ‘beauty’ in 2009. The Lagonda SUV was met with wails of anguish from lovers of Aston Martin’s timeless beauty but, despite the horror at the looks of the SUV, the prospect that Aston Martin could be heading down a collaboration route with Mercedes was welcome. It was welcome because without the support of a major car maker – and access to its technology – Aston Martin would have little chance of a bright future; there is no way a minnow like Aston Martin could afford the development cost of new engines and platforms.
BMW 316d (2009) first official pictures
Thu, 25 Jun 2009By James Popsys First Official Pictures 25 June 2009 09:58 BMW has announced its cleanest and most efficient 3-series ever – the 316d ES saloon. According to BMW, the 316d emits under 120g/km CO2, and sips fuel at a rate of 62.8mpg, giving it a theoretical range of over 800 miles on a single tank. It might say 316d on the boot badge, but the engine under the bonnet is actually a 2.0-litre diesel.
