Nissan’s refusal to bring it’s desert-crushing Patrol to the UK would seem to reinforce the thought, but despite perceptions Nissan are about to launch the 2011 Nissan X-Trail facelift. The X-Trail is an on-road offroader in the old fashioned sense; not a crossover.

And we knew – because they ‘hinted’ at it when we spoke to them last week – that the whole Top Gear segment had more than a little to do with the Paramount Group in South Africa, purveyors of innovative armoured vehicles. Nissan unveiled the grown-up-looking Rogue SUV at the Frankfurt motor show on Tuesday. The second-best-selling vehicle in Nissan's lineup will sticker for $23,350 when it goes on sale in November. Every Rogue will come with Nissan's 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine making 170 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque.
