CDN and Opel/Vauxhall launch new Interactive Competition – design the Ampera of 2020

‘Design the 2020 Ampera': That's the challenge being thrown down to European design students by Opel/Vauxhall's design team in a new interactive competition launched today in conjunction with Car Design News. The Car Design News - Opel/Vauxhall Interactive competition builds on last year's inaugural competition, which tasked students with designing a ‘Lounge in motion'. To enter this year's competition click here: Design the 2020 Ampera The prizes - Six-month paid internship at their design studios in Russelsheim, Germany - Finalists will have their work displayed on the Opel/Vauxhall stand at the 2012 Paris salon de l'auto and be invited to attend the show, where the winner will be announced The brief Most students will be well aware of Opel/Vauxhall's ground breaking Ampera - the range-extended electric vehicle that goes on sale across Europe in 2012.

2013 Lexus LS: Price & Spec announced

Lexus has revealed that the 2013 Lexus LS will start at £71,995 for the LS 460 Luxury rising to £99,495 for the LS 600h L Premier. Lexus has brought back the LS 460 for those who don’t want the hybrid LS 600h, so you can now have your new LS with a 4.6 litre V8 with 382bhp and no electric gubbins. Not only that, but you can opt for the LS 460 in Luxury or F Sport spec for a little dynamic edge.

2014 Mercedes S Class REVEALED

There’s not a huge more to say about the new S Class than we already have, but it does look convincing. It takes styling cues from many of Mercedes latest models, but even without the big bulbous wheel arches at the back it’s still very recognisable as an S Class – just a new one. We already know much about what ‘s likely to be on offer at first – S350, S400 and S500 – and what’s to come – S250, S63 AMG, S Class Pullman – and that we’ll see, in due course, both an S Class Coupe and a convertible S Class.
