Please read the complete description and look at all the pictures after the description, to avoid asking unnecessary questions, and to avoid any problems upon receipt of this item. Please don't hesitate to ask questions if there is something I haven't mentioned, or if you're unsure of something. In addition, please disregard Ebay's definitions of condition descriptions, and go by my description of this item.

This is an original Delco radio model number is R-705. I believe this was a dealer installed accessory that was available for all GM vehicles from 1946 to 1948, and maybe as early as 1942. It may have also been sold as an aftermarket radio for non-GM cars too. This is a two piece radio with a box that mounts behind or under the dash, and controls that mount on the steering column. It's a signal seeking radio (like a Wonderbar). The box has some surface rust on it, but is fairly clean inside, and the tubes are all there. Some of the paint has worn off the steering column controls, and there's some light pitting on the chrome. I'm not sure if the mounting bracket is original. I don't know it's working condition, so please assume that it does not work.

I'm selling this radio as-is as a non-working radio needing to be repaired or restored. I will guarantee it to be received as described.

Please note that due to new Ebay and PayPal policies for 2011, I must now charge and collect sales tax on items sold to buyers with shipping addresses here in the state of California. The tax rate here in Riverside CA is 8.0%, so if you live here in CA, when bidding, please bear in mind that that's an extra 80 cents you will have to pay on every $10.

All radios are packed in new boxes that are big enough to allow room for plenty of padding of bubble wrap and peanuts. I guarantee you will NOT receive your radio with the shafts sticking out of the box and bent or broken (like many that I have bought). I will have to ship in two boxes, one for the radio, and one for the antenna. Buyer pays actual Fedex shipping, which should be around $20-$30 depending on distance from Riverside California 92505. Please use the Ebay shipping calculator for the exact amount that Ebay will calculate at the end of the auction. I ship within 1 working day of receipt of payment, and give the buyer the tracking number the same day. PayPal payment is expected within 5 days of the end of the auction. Check my feedback and feel confident that this item will arrive undamaged.

Sorry, but due to past problems with the U.S. and foreign post offices, absolutely no shipping outside the USA. If you are outside the U.S., but have a U.S. address that I can ship to, please e-mail me and I will put you on my buyer block exemption list so that you may bid.

I always have and always will resolve any problem that arises. Please be sure to contact me if there is any problem, as I can't resolve a problem if I don't know about it. Thanks!

Interactive Audi Cam smoothes car repairs

Tue, 07 Aug 2012

Audi Cam system – now rolled out across Audi’s UK dealer network – smoothes repair flow decisions for customers. Last year Audi introduced Direct Reception technology across its dealer network, allowing customers to see and speak to the mechanics (sorry, technicians) as they work on a car. It’s a good way to pass the time if you have the time in the first place to sit in a dealer’s reception whilst your car is worked on, but it always seemed more a gimmick than anything else; a bit like the ‘Celebrity Chef Kitchen Table’ fad.

Porsche announces new Weissach design center and wind tunnel

Wed, 24 Nov 2010

Porsche is to invest around €150m into its Weissach development facility, including a new design center. The plans also include an electronics integration department and a state-of-the art, on-site wind tunnel, which is hoped will allow the company to realize an holistic approach to efficient design, with a strong focus on aerodynamics. When we spoke with head of Porsche design, Michael Mauer, at this year's Paris motor show, he also alluded to the fact that the Volkswagen Group's – and, more specifically, Walter de'Silva's – recent influence on the German manufacturer was shifting its attitudes: "The Volkswagen Group has a very good understanding of how much freedom a brand needs to keep its characteristics and with [Walter] as 'conductor', I feel a lot of support with design issues within the company," explained Mauer.
