Up for auction is the radio from a '58 Fairlane. I have not tested this unit but it appears to be in good shape cosmetically. The preset buttons appear to work as they should but the tuning knob doesn't seem to move the needle as much as it should and appears to get stuck in a few places. Please refer to the photos for a further evaluation of condition.

Lancias, Fiats and Chryslers at Detroit motor show 2010

Tue, 12 Jan 2010

By Tim Pollard Motor Shows 12 January 2010 05:11 Strange goings-on in the newly assembled Fiat-Chrysler axis at Detroit. The Cobo Hall has been rearranged this year to reflect the change in ownership, and so we enjoyed the juxtaposition of a Ferrari 599XX alongside a Dodge Viper. Slightly less easy on the eye was the abomination that was the Chrysler Chrysler.

Maybach reaches end of the line

Fri, 25 Nov 2011

Daimler AG is set to announce the closure of its Maybach ultra luxury brand this weekend, according to reports. The underperforming 57 and 62 limousines are to be killed off in 2013, following a decision from chairman Dieter Zetsche who has elected not to invest in their respective replacements for 2014. Following a concept car preview at the 1997 Tokyo motor show, Maybach was resurrected in 2002 after Daimler AG failed to purchase either Rolls-Royce or Bentley from then owners, Vickers.

New Audi Q7 (2013) to shed weight. But no Audi Q9 planned.

Fri, 12 Aug 2011

The 2013 Audi Q7 will be much lighter than the current Q7 The Audi Q7 was rather late to the SUV party of the noughties, not hitting the road until 2005. That meant the Q7 had a bit of an edge when it launched, as it was newer than its competition, but it also means the Q7 is still soldiering on when its competition has already launched newer, shinier models. But Audi are working on fixing that, and fixing the biggest criticism of the Q7 in the process – its sheer weight and size.
