THIS IS A GOOD LOWER PIVOT SECTION FROM A 1985 MERCURY L-DRIVE. IT HAS BEEN GLASS BEADED, CHECKED FOR CRACKS, PRIMED WITH MARINE GRADE PRIMER, AND PAINTED WITH MARINE GRADE PAINT. THERE WERE NO CRACKS IN THE PIVOT HOLES OR ANYWHERE ELSE. THIS PIECE IS EXTREMELY RARE, VERY HARD TO FIND, AND NO LONGER MADE. IF YOU HAVE AN L-DRIVE AND NEED ONE, OR JUST WANT A SPARE, IT WON'T GET ANY CHEAPER THAN THIS. I AM TRYING TO CLEAN OUT AN CLOSE MY STORAGE LOCKER, SO MY LOSS IS YOUR GAIN. THIS L-DRIVE, I BELIEVE WAS A 140 hp, BUT I DON'T THINK IT REALLY MAKES ANY DIFFERENCE AS FAR AS THE LOWER UNIT GOES. I HAVE OVER 200 LISTINGS ON E-BAY, SO PLEASE VIEW MY OTHER AUCTIONS. We can't see much, but we do get a sense of the general shape of the car, which looks to be a bit more streamlined than the model it replaces. An earlier teaser shot showed the front end of the new LS.
