Morgan Threewheeler (2011) first official pictures
Wed, 03 Nov 2010Morgan surprised us all today by going back in time and unveiling the new-for-2011 roadster Threewheeler. Morgan started out making three-wheelers and from next year it will do so again; between 1909 and 1953 Morgan manufactured around 30,000 three-wheelers. One even won the French Grand Prix in 1913 and Stirling Moss owned one. The new Morgan will be fitted with the latest 'Screaming Eagle' 1800cc twin engine from a Harley Davidson married to a five-speed manual transmission from Mazda.
Think City EV Cup Edition (2010) first official pictures
Wed, 30 Jun 2010Manufacturers have been trying to make their racers more economical for some time now; Audi and Peugeot have produced diesel Le Mans winners and CAR reviewed the Porsche GT3 R Hybrid in the June 2010 issue, but this the most recent fully electric offering from Norwegian company Think. Think has followed the traditional road-racer conversion for this one-off prototype, by stripping out most of the interior and space for the passenger, using Perspex instead of glass in the windows, installing a solitary lightweight bucket seat and lowering the centre of gravity. The company claims the diet reduces the Think's weight by nearly 70kg; that's the same saving as a Lamborghini Gallardo Superlegerra, remember.

Mon, 17 Oct 2011Genty Akylone - a 1000bhp French Supercar The greatest Supercar in recent years hails from France, and with production of the Veyron coming to a close it looked as though France may lose its mantle of producer of the world’s fastest car to the Americans. But Genty automotive may have put paid to that with the reveal of the 1000bhp Genty Akylone. The Genty Akolyne is a rather generic-looking supercar, but one that promises incredible performance.
