Safety
The Tactical helmet meets or exceeds AS, DOT, & ECE 2205 safety certification standards. It features an innovative dual density, interlocking EPS foam liner that provides industry-leading crash protection in the event of an accident. The front chin area of the helmet is protected by a specially designed expanded polyurethane chin insert that provides front impact protection. The outer shell is made of a durable polycarbonate.

Performance
After safety we focused on performance features. With integrated front & top intake vents and rear exhaust vents, the Tactical helmet will keep you comfortable while riding. The included cold weather breath box can install in seconds to keep you warm and dry under the harshest conditions. The unique aerodynamic visor features a locking top center mount that holds the visor in place and prevents unwanted visor movement.

Fit
The Tactical helmet was engineered for two important fits: Goggle fit and rider fit. The custom interior EPS head foam with premium removable liner creates an extremely comfortable fit. The unique bottom profile shape is neck brace ready. The eyeport of the Tactical helmet was designed for a perfect fit with your 509 brand goggles. The Tactical helmet & 509 brand goggles are two products designed to fit and perform at the highest level when used in combination.

Sizing:

Size charts are recommendations from the manufacturer only. They are not a guarantee of a perfect fit. Each individual head is unique in both size & shape, and can alter proper fitting. The best way to get accurate fitting is to always try on the same helmet at a local shop. Each helmet manufacturer has their own unique shell size & shape and size chart, so just because you may wear a specific helmet size in one brand, does not mean that you will wear that same helmet size in a different brand.
1. Put the helmet on by grasping the chin strap in each hand and pulling it on over your ears until you feel the top portion of the helmet touch. If the helmet immediately feels too tight, i.e.; your head does not touch the top of the helmet, you cannot pull the helmet down over your ears, or is painful, try the next size larger.
2. Once you have found a helmet that feels comfortable and snug, you must assure that it is not too loose. To do so, with the chin strap securely fastened, grasp the helmet chin bar firmly with one hand and try to move the helmet from side to side and up and down. If the helmet slides on your skin and hair, it is too large. If your scalp and skin want to move with the helmet, the fit is snug.
3. Finally, while still grasping the chin bar, try to rotate the helmet as far down and forward as possible then as far backward as possible. If the helmet feels as if it might slide off in either direction, the helmet is either too big or the chin strap was not securely fastened. This manufacturer has a wide range of helmet sizes, but if for whatever reason you cannot find a helmet in this brand to fit your head size or shape securely, look into another brand.

PLEASE NOTE: Our listing is size & color specific. The specific size & color is detailed in the listing. We are providing the manufacturer's recommended size chart for your convenience for fit. If the specific size in this listing may not be the best fit for you, please review our other listings for a size that may be of better fit.

Natural-gas-powered Honda Civic can stay in California carpool lane

Mon, 11 Jul 2011

Honda Civic GX drivers in California are smiling this week as they continue to have access to the high-occupancy-vehicle lane, even with just one person in the car. Even though one-occupant hybrid cars have lost access to the carpool lane, natural-gas-powered vehicles get to use it for another four years. Beginning on July 1, yellow-stickered partial hybrids were banned from HOV areas on the highways unless they carried the mandated number of people.

New Lotus Elite: Top-Down +video

Wed, 13 Oct 2010

New Lotus Elite (2014) Top Down I think we’ve just about got over the surprise of a New Lotus Elite dropping from a clear blue sky in the week before the Paris Motor Show. What we still haven’t completely got our heads around is the plethora of models subsequently revealed at the show itself. Yes, we were expecting the new Lotus Esprit – even if we reckoned we might have got that wrong after the New Elite showed up – but we hadn’t reckoned on the new Elan, the new Eterne and the new Elise as well (never mind a City Car concept).

Freeman Thomas: “it's easier to create your own rocket than create your own car”

Thu, 08 May 2014

The Industrial Designers Society of America's ‘Designing Innovation' panel discussion took place in San Francisco yesterday. The event was sponsored by Ford, with strategic design director, Freeman Thomas taking a place on the panel. Having parked a C-MAX Energi and new F-150 in the venue, Ford's influence weighed rather heavily, particularly in the early moments.
