This Pontiac 461 467 468 488 495 Crate Stroker Engine by Blue Monkey Performance would be EXCELLENT to bring your Firebird, Trans Am, Tempest, GTO/Goat, LeMans, Tempest, Grand Am, Catalina, Bonneville, Tempest or etc to life! This engine is custom built with a Very rough muscle car idle. If you are using an A/T, a higher stall speed convert will be required. This is not a daily driver. This engine can be used for street use but only as a week end toy.

We use a Pontiac block on this build with 3 center mains with 4 bolt main caps for added strength. Engine makes 461 - 467 - 468 - 488 - 489 495 or etc CID depending on bore and stroke combination.

Engine for you will be custom built. Pictures are of previously built engine that has already been built and sold.

We have built and dyno tested similar combinations and they made 625 to 650 HP.  Depending on how you have us build the engine. HP and TQ will vary depending on compression, intake cam and etc that is used for your application.

A higher stall speed is required. This engine will have a Very aggressive Strip/Street cam. Specific stall speed will vary depending on what cam is used for your application and use.
We can supply you with a higher stall speed torque converter at a additional charge.

The balanced rotating assembly includes:

  • 4.250" or 4.500" stroke Forged Steel crank
  • 6.700" or 6.800" H - beam rods
  • We can build this engine to run on Premium pump gas or race gas

More special features of this engine include:

  • New Forged pistons
  • Deck head gasket surface on block to ensure a good seal
  • Hydraulic or Mechanical Roller cam
  • Kaufman KRE High Port 356-T6 Aluminum heads
  • Bronz valve guides
  • 1.550" High performance valve springs set up to match camshaft
  • CNC port matched heads
  • 2.200" int. and 1.700" Stainless valves with stems under cut and swirl polished for added flow
  • 14 degree valve angle
  • Hardened int. and exh. valves seats for use with leaded, unleaded or race fuel
  • Reinforced 7/16" stud bosses for added strength
  • 7/16" rocker studs with guide plates for added strength
  • ARP heads studs installed for better stronger head to block seal
  • This engine will require you to use round port exhaust
  • Scorpion Full Roller rockers
  • Chrome moly push rods
  • Double row roller timing set
  • Melling Oil pump with big PU tube
  • Milodon or Canton big capacity oil pan
  • Brass expansion plugs
  • North Wind or Edelbrock Intake manifold depending on application and hood clearance. We prefer the Kauffman KRE North Wind intake but it does make the carb sit taller so on some applications the North Wind may require modifying your cowl or hood.
  • All parts are painted separately before assembly for that show quality look

This engine comes completely assembled with oil pan, timing cover, harmonic balancer, valve covers, and intake manifold.

Engine can be built with different valve covers. Check the size and clearance of your power brake unit to determine what valve covers will work for your application. Keep in mind we are using Full Roller rockers.

This engine is spin tested, oil pressure, compression and etc. tested before shipping.

We don't build engine until we know the following.
What vehicle and transmission you have.
What will you be doing with vehicle? Racing? Street use?
Compression ratio and cam will be selected after we find out what fuel you are going to use and more details about your use and application.

Super-Mercs storm in

Fri, 29 Sep 2006

By Ben Whitworth Motor Industry 29 September 2006 08:18 Mercedes pulled the wraps off not one but two muscle-bound AMG monsters at the Paris show – the CL63 and S63. Powered by AMG’s formidable 6.3-litre V8 that pumps out 525bhp at a screaming 6800rpm and 465lb ft of twist action at 5200rpm, the uber Mercs will both hit 60mph in 4.6seconds and are electronically reined in at 155mph. Given their flagship position in the Mercedes thoroughbred stable, both cars are naturally fitted with every single acronym in Mercedes’ safety, braking, luxury and performance lexicon.

Fri, 13 May 2011

The Guggenheim Museum in New York is selling an original BMW M1 art car to raise funds and to make way for other exhibits. Frank Stella painted the Bavarian supercar in 1979, and it has been part of the Guggenheim collection since 1999. BMW has commissioned many art cars since the program launched in 1975, including another M1 by Andy Warhol and a 3.0 CSL also by Stella.

Cadillac at Geneva

Wed, 05 Mar 2008

By James Foxall Motor Shows 05 March 2008 13:57 What’s new on Cadillac’s Geneva Motor Show stand? It was a festival of silver on the General Motors brand’s stand. But even combining anonymity in colour with gloomy lighting couldn’t hide the lack of new product.
