Wed, 10 Jun 2009The Mercedes ESF 2009 Concept showcases a raft of new safety technology So Mercedes has unveiled the Mercedes ESF 2009 Concept, which is a test-bed to showcase the latest technology Mercedes sees as on its way to mainstream. Mercedes has based the ESF Concept on the latest addition to the Mercedes S-Class Range – the S400 Hybrid – and has packed it to the rafters with airbags. There’s one that pops up between front seat passengers; airbags actually in the seatbelts and one great big airbag under the car that inflates if a crash is imminent.

Wed, 01 Feb 2012Lexus has released an official video of its Lexus LF-LC concept, winner of the ‘Best Concept Car' at the 2012 EyesOn Design Awards. The video features comments from the design team at the company's Calty studio in Newport Beach, California, including Project Chief Designer William Chergosky, Senior Creative Designers Edward Lee and Ben Chang, Studio Manager Ian Cartabiano as well as President Kevin Hunter. The LF-LC hybrid sports coupe is the result of a brief to the Calty team to design a future hybrid sports coupe concept.

Thu, 01 Aug 2013Registration is now open to attend the glamorous Interior Motives Design Awards 2013 ceremony at Moon 13 (formerly The Cocoon Club) in Frankfurt on 9 September, the eve of the first Frankfurt motor show press day. The finalists will be revealed in front of some of the most influential figures in car design, while partygoers will be able to view the projects in person and relax over a drink and food with their colleagues. Awards will be given in the following eight categories: Best eco interior Best use of technology Best innovative interior Best ergonomics Best conceptual interior Best production interior Best conceptual exterior Best artistic visualization The winner of each category receives $500 in prize money, and one student (or group of students) will walk away with the accolade of Interior Motives Student Designer of the Year, which carries with it a prize of $5,000.
