The new Maserati Ghibli – the new, smaller version of the Quattroporte – has leaked ahead of a reveal later this week and a debut at the Shanghai Motor Show. Update: Maserati has now officially revealed the Ghibli with the same three photos we published. Apart from the information below, the only other confirmation is that the new Maserati Ghibli will also be offered with the first diesel engine in a Maserati, allowing it to compete with cars like the Audi A6 and the Jaguar XF 3.0 litre Diesel S.

VW Up 5 Door The first photos of the VW Up 5 door have been revealed, a few months after the 3-Door Up debuted officially at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The winners of the 2012 Car Design of the Year Awards, as voted for by Car Design News readers, were announced at the annual Car Design Night at By Pass nightclub on the evening of the first Geneva motor show press day. Over 350 car designers were in attendance to catch up with their colleagues and meet new peers at the first European show of the year. Car Design News' editor, Owen Ready, presented the winners of the annual Car Design of the Year Awards.
