Self-driving Tesla could hit roads within three years
Tue, 01 Apr 2014Electric car manufacturer Tesla has said that self-driving cars could be a reality within the next three years, with the firm targeting a computer-guided version of its Model S saloon. Tesla chief executive officer Elon Musk said in an interview with the Financial Times that the autonomous driving technology would act like “an autopilot” that could be switched on and off like an aeroplane’s guidance system. The Subaru WRX is the poster child for the Playstation Generation, but Subaru in the UK seem to have fallen out of love with the idea of a budget supercar, preferring to concentrate on fluffy bunny dreams of hybrids and fresh air from the tailpipe. So there’s a lot of uncertainty if the next generation WRX – previewed this week in New York by the WRX Concept – will make it to the UK when it turns in to a production model.
'400,000 children in smoky cars'
Tue, 19 Nov 2013HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of children travel in smoke-filled cars every week, a charity has warned. The British Lung Foundation (BLF) estimates that in England more than 430,000 children aged 11 to 15 are exposed to second hand smoke in cars each week. The charity, which conducted analysis on official NHS data, said that 185,000 children of the same age are exposed to smoke while in the family car on "most days", if not every day.
