Ford offers body shells for those who want to restore the classic '60s Bronco

One of the forerunners of the SUV craze, the classic 1960s Ford Bronco, is getting a new life. Ford will begin offering body shells for 1966-70 models later this fall, and they're aimed at enthusiasts who want to upgrade, soup up or improve their aging off-roaders. Look for the Bronco shell to make an appearance at SEMA this fall, perhaps with an EcoBoost engine underhood.

Daimler, Renault-Nissan in talks on fuel cell

German automaker Daimler AG is talking to partners Renault SA and Nissan Motor Co. about working together on fuel cell technology, the German automaker's head of research and development told Reuters in an interview. "Fuel cell technology is also electric so it could make a lot of sense to join forces also in this field," Thomas Weber, board member for r&d at the maker of Mercedes-Benz and Smart cars, said at the Shanghai auto show.
