Baron Flathead Ford Racing Engine Girdle

This beautifully manufactured Tony Baron Ford flathead racing engine girdle has never been installed in an engine. It is brand new and was only removed from its box for photographing. This setup significantly stabilizes and fortifies a flathead’s lower end. These Baron caps are a vast improvement over stock Ford flathead engine main caps. These girdles are often used with larger displacement Ford flathead engines, and work extremely well with blown, injected, or Ardun overhead valve engines. Their workmanship and detail are incredible. I’m told by H and H Flatheads that Baron Racing sells this set up in the mid $800’s? You can purchase mine for less.

Lamborghini LP700-4 (2011): the rolling chassis

Wed, 23 Feb 2011

Lamborghini continues the long drip-feed on the new V12 supercar replacement for the Murcielago with this first picture of the carbonfibre rolling chassis. In this week's edition of motor show teaser photography, Lamborghini has started with a naked LP700-4 chassis, prior to next week's reveal of the fully clothed new V12 supercar.  You can clearly see the new pushrod suspension, the carbonfibre chassis, subframes snd the suitably enormous wheel and tyre package.    None at this point. CAR's Gavin Green has driven one of the prototypes (see the January 2011 edition) but it will be at next week's 2011 Geneva motor show where the world gets its first clear look at the new Lamborghini.

Swedish raincoat company teases Volvo Concept Estate

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

Volvo has brought the station wagon back to America; one small slice of the automotive continuum has been set to right. But the new V60 is a rather slinky, sporty thing, far removed from the box-plus-box-equals-box machines of the wagon's Stateside heyday. If this glimpse of the Swedish brand's new Concept Estate is any indication, do not expect a reversion to angularity when the next generation of cars arrives.

Suzuki Swift Sport (2011) first official picture

Wed, 10 Aug 2011

This is the new Suzuki Swift Sport, a lovely little hot (well, warm) hatch that will be officially revealed at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show in September. And you can forget about the current crop of turbocharged and big power-chasing hot hatches – this Swift Sport uses a naturally aspirated engine good for just 134bhp… 134bhp! I know the last Suzuki Swift Sport wasn’t big on power but Minis and VXR Corsas boast over 200bhp… Yes, but that’s not the point.
