TRAC electric anchor winches offer simple, smooth operation and provide excellent holding power. Winches feature high-efficiency 12-volt DC all-steel gear motors that use less battery power than other makes. Push-button AutoDeply automatically lowers the anchor, releasing rope until the anchor touches bottom. When slack n the rope becomes tight, rope is automatically released in short lengths or can be locked with the touch of any switch or remote button. Automatically releases the rope needed to hold the boat in position. When the anchor stops letting rope out, press the "lock" or any other switch button. Great for fishing to allow a controlled drift. Includes assembly hardware and instructions, 100' of 0.20" pre-wound braided anchor rope, separate or integrated anchor roller, circuit breaker, sealed membrane UP/DOWN switch,  16' of 14 gauge marine-grade battery wire, anchor safety chain. This Anchor Winch comes with a wireless remote as well as the switch on the cover.  With this remote the winch can be operated from anywhere in the boat.

Porsche 918 Spyder crashes in Germany

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

Porsche is in hot water with German authorities following an accident involving a prototype version of the gasoline-electric hybrid-powered 918 Spyder on a public road last month, according to reports in the German media. The accident, which took place between the towns of Bietigheim-Bissingen and Ludwigsburg (close to Porsche's research-and-development center), saw the 875-hp 918 Spyder spin out of control and collide with a guard rail. Parts of the new $845,000 Porsche flagship are said to have broken loose in the collision before being collected by an oncoming car.
