The next generation Mercedes-Benz SL – code name R231 – is the sixth model to wear the 'Sport Leicht' badge since the first back in 1954. WE’RE constantly being told that more mature citizens are making up an increasing proportion of the population, and nowhere is this more obvious than on our roads. According to road safety charity the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM), there are now more than seven million drivers over the age of 65 in the UK. The figures come from driving licence data published by the DVLA in December 2013, and show that the number of drivers over 65 reached 7,191,192 in November 2013.

Ram beefs up heavy-duty trucks for more towing

The Chrysler Group is upgrading its heavy-duty Ram pickups for the 2013 model to deliver what it says will be class-leading towing capacity. Diesel-powered versions also adopt selective catalytic reduction exhaust treatment to cut emissions and extend maintenance intervals. The automaker has also created a dedicated commercial vehicle team within the Ram brand to boost its business with fleet and work truck buyers.
