Watch a reverse car jump record get broken
Tue, 18 Feb 2014Jumping a car from ramp to ramp while driving forward takes a quite a bit of skill, but at least you can see where you're going. But what about jumping a car backwards? We honestly had no idea that a Guinness World Record existed for the Farthest Reverse Ramp Jump by a Car, so imagine our surprise when we learned that professional skateboarder and MTV personality Rod Dyrdek set out to break that record at Six Flags Magic Mountain using a Chevrolet Sonic.
Ford reveals S-Max concept ahead of 2013 Frankfurt motor show
Thu, 29 Aug 2013Here's another one that'll probably go straight into the “not bound for United States shores” file: the Ford S-Max concept, which will make its grand debut at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show. Ford says the S-Max previews a “future sport activity vehicle,” which may, in fact, be contemporary PR-speak for “mini-minivan.” Look beyond the carbon-fiber interior detailing (and add some door handles) and you'll see a vehicle that looks more or less production-ready. The S-Max concept isn't too wildly sculpted, sharing styling cues with current Fords (including the Fiesta, Escape/Kuga, C-Max and Fusion/Mondeo) -- from the creases on the hood to the high, hexagonal grille to the stainless steel trim surrounding the greenhouse.
One Lap of the Web: new imports, old imports
Wed, 27 Nov 2013-- The 1956 Maserati A6G-2000 Allemano is as beautiful as it is rare, and if Jay Leno didn't take one for a spin in this video, we probably wouldn't see one until next year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. -- Simon Cowell (of Simon Cowell fame) bought a Bugatti Veyron three years ago because a friend told him its a good idea, and he's driven it a total of two times since. Not driven it at its maximum speed, but just driven period.
