Hamann BMW M5 tuning package announced

German tuner Hamann will upgrade and modify Land Rovers, McLarens, Mercedes-Benzes and more, but its real expertise is in BMWs. The company has just announced an upgrade package for the new generation of BMW M5 sedans. Hamann's body kit adds 25 millimeters on the rocker panels and the rear diffuser, while the front lip is extended by 30 millimeters.

BMW's readying a pocket-sized M3 for those on a smaller budget: the BMW 1-Series M Coupe. While official information remains scarce on this 2011 pocket rocket, we've grabbed a few more pointers to its performance and stats. Set to be launched in early 2011, the 1-series based M spells a return to more lightweight M cars after the X6 M and its ilk that strained relations with the most fervent M division fans.

After 1,300 miles, 96 hours, two engines, three transmissions, a busted exhaust, a bent shifter, a stuck throttle, countless bottles of water, much swearing and the looming threat of heat exhaustion, Bruce Meyers and the Meyers Manx Race Team buggy drove through the finish line at the town square of San Jose Del Cabo and completed the damn 2014 NORRA Mexican 1000 once and for all. Finally -- for Meyers' and the number 1964 buggy's first time -- they had successfully navigated the Baja Peninsula and finished under their own power. The poor Meyers Manx Dual Sport was looking worse for the wear when it streamed into town at 5:30 p.m.
