Land Rover start tease for new Range Rover Sport

Land Rover has started to tease the debut of the new Range Rover Sport ahead of a live drive through Manhattan to show the new Sport to NYC. In the last couple of years we’ve had two of the new Land Rover products hit showrooms – the Range Rover Evoque and the 2013 Range Rover – to almost universal praise and big queues around the world as car buyers clamour for Land Rover’s latest new toys. Mercedes SL (2012): aluminium saves 8% weight

Mercedes' new 2012 SL will weigh a solid 140kg less than today's SL roadster - a significant saving of some 8%. This crash diet has been enabled by the adoption of aluminium for the new SL. The learnings from the SLS gullwing are now trickling down to the higher-volume SL, which will be revealed in December 2011.

White Van Man 'worst for tailgating'

MOTORISTS should beware of White Van Man on their tail, according to a survey of thousands of accidents. Van drivers were 47% more likely to be involved in a crash when they were following other drivers too closely, the survey by AXA Business Insurance found. The survey also found van drivers were much more likely than other drivers to crash while reversing, doing a U-turn and changing lanes, while they were more liable than other road users to get tired or distracted.
