Remember when Toyotas used to be weird? Sure, they've been doing some marginal experimentation lately, bringing us one half of the Febreze twins and making the Lexus GS a legit good driver's car. But oh, when will they cast the mantle of staid sturdiness fully into the wind?

GMC Granite concept (w/ Video)

The biggest surprise at the 2010 NAIAS was GMC's Granite concept - a design that expands (or rather contracts) the truck/crossover brand's 'professional grade' philosophy to a compact hatchback aimed at urban hipsters and early adopters. Conceived by Frank Saucedo's Advanced Design team in California and then built at GM's Design Center in Detroit, the Granite combines the basic proportions of the Nissan Cube and Scion xB with a military/industrial feel inspired by the current G-Star and Diesel fashion lines. Kia to show KND-7 concept at CES in Las Vegas

Even though just a few years ago cars weren't a prominent part of the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, it is now an event filled with automakers and their concept cars. And for the 2014 edition of the massive show, Kia will bring their KND-7 concept. The KND-7 features a 1.6-liter turbocharged GDI (gasoline direct injection) four-cylinder engine good for 201-hp, along with cheeky exterior design.
