The days have long passed when you could take your Model A wheel and tire to the corner gas station and have the tire replaced. Even some professional tire shops these days don't have equipment that will work on Model A wheels without damaging them. So, the Model A owner is left to his own devices to replace a worn tire or fix a leaking or defective innertube. The trouble is, some folks don't know how to take a tire off a wheel or put it back on. They have never had to do such a thing before. Well, here's the solution. A clear demonstration of an easy and safe method for unmounting and remounting a tire without damaging the hub cap, and some helpful tips for installing an innertube that may just save you from a flat tire down the road.

Watch and learn from this demonstration of removing a tire from the wheel using tape-wrapped tire irons. Installing a new innertube and remounting the tire to meet judging standards comes next. Also see a demonstration of how to replace an innertube while the tire remains on the car along the side of the road. This can come in handy in cases where you don't have a spare tire, the spare tire has gone flat, or you don't have a lug wrench handy.

These videos were produced by the Diablo A’s. They are NOT professionally made videos. Mounting a Tire and Changing an Innertube is an edited version of the demonstration conducted for our club members. We believe the information and techniques shown on the video will help you in your Model A restoration and maintenance efforts.

Mercedes Concept Style Coupe (2012) - aka CLA

Thu, 19 Apr 2012

Mercedes will show the Concept Style Coupe at the 2012 Beijing motor show next week. It's a thinly veiled look at a compact coupe spun off the Merc A-class architecture - likely to wear the CLA badge. In essence this is our first look at the shrunken, baby CLS Daimler plans to launch in 2013 - and the CLA production version will be priced around £20,000.

Leno lines up electric Ford Focus for celebs to turn fast laps

Fri, 18 Sep 2009

Car collector Jay Leno's new prime-time TV show launches a new segment on Friday night, challenging visiting celebrities to set a fast lap time on a track outside the entertainer's studio. The car that Leno hands to his guests is an electric-powered Ford Focus--a harbinger of a battery-powered Focus that Ford plans to put on sale in 2011. Leno's electric Focus uses the more-modern European Focus as its base, not the well-aged U.S.

New Bugatti 'could be too fast to test'

Thu, 07 Aug 2014

THE UPCOMING replacement for the world's fastest luxury car could be too quick to test, according to a motoring magazine. Bugatti is looking to replace the famous Veyron with a new, faster model that could reach speeds of around 286mph, but questions have been raised by weekly title Autocar over whether the facilities will exist to test it to its maximum. Not only is space a concern for the 1,500-horsepower concept, because it will need much longer straights than the Veyron, but also tyres are an issue.
