Citroen C3 1.4VTi Review & Road Test (2010) Part 2
Fri, 25 Jun 2010Part 2 of our Citroen C3 Review The 1.4 VTi is not necessarily the best engine for the C3, but it is nice for a change to have a petrol engine in a small car. You get used to the almost on/off nature of driving a small, turbo diesel that it’s rather nice to get a petrol engine with more linear power and a more fluid note for a change. But 95bhp is not quite enough for really flying along – even in a compact-sized car – but it’s enough to propel the C3 around town quite adequately.
2012 Lotus Exige S: The video Duel
Mon, 26 Sep 20112012 Lotus Exige S Duel Video We’ve run a story or two on the 2012 Lotus Exige S – the one with the V6 from the Evora – in the run up to its reveal at Frankfurt. But now we get video too. An advert of any sort – even a promo video – is quite unusual for Lotus, but this is the second time this year we’ve seen a Lotus shedding rubber to entice buyers to see the products from Hethel as a viable option.
Citroen fits new 3.0 V6 HDI to C5 and C6
Mon, 15 Jun 2009By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 15 June 2009 09:50 Citroen has announced its most powerful engine in a production car – the new, expanded 3.0-litre HDI turbodiesel. It's the PSA-Jaguar Land Rover developed engine, previously available as a 2.7.The new 3.0 HDI will be fitted to the C5 and C6 in late summer 2009, replacing the 2.7. It produces 237bhp, up from 205bhp in the 2.7, yet fuel economy and CO2 both improve by around 15%.What's new on Citroen's 3.0-litre V6 HDI?The V6 gets a third generation common-rail injection system, a diesel particulate filter system and an alternator that recovers energy during braking. Both C5 and C6 3.0 HDI V6 models average 38mpg and emit 195g/km of CO2.The V6 turbodiesel was jointly developed by Ford (when it owned Jaguar Land Rover) and PSA Peugeot Citroen and is built in the Blue Oval's Dagenham, UK, diesel facility.
