VW BlueSport Concept moves nearer to reality

We reported last week on the VW BlueSport Concept, a relatively economical 2 seat roadster, which VW unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show. We said then that if we were VW we’d be pressing the start button as soon as possible, and reports seem to indicate that that is exactly what VW are hoping to do. The secret to the success of the BlueSport will be the ability of the VW Group as a whole to find three platforms within its setup that can produce viable models based on the BlueSport Concept.

With the Red Bull of Mark Webber on pole and Sebastian Vettel alongside, could Vettel take the lead in the driver’s championship in Korea? Last year, Sebastian Vettel took the win in Seoul, and this year it’s a second place on the grid for Vettel as he strives to overtake Alonso in the race for the drivers’ championship, with Mark Webber sitting on pole. After Vettel’s display in Japan in the last race, and a clear edge over the rest of the fields in qualifying in Korea, it was no surprise to see the Red Bulls go clear from the start, with Vettel getting the jump on Webber and heading off in to the sunset for a clear win – despite a few tyre traumas near the end – with Webber riding shotgun for a solid second place.

The Motor City truck wars are hotter than ever with Ford, Ram and GM each recently revamping their pickup lineup. The most recent contender: GM's redesigned Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. In addition to new exterior designs, a new engine -- the 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 -- will be available to complement V8 options.
