Saab China Deal: Chinese Government support ‘In Principal’
Tue, 01 Nov 2011Saab gets encouragement from China Minister Yesterday we had the news that Pang Da and Youngman – the Chinese companies seeking to buy Saab – have outlined the investment they propose to make in Saab. But the deal to sell Saab is fraught with difficulties for Victor Muller. It’s one thing getting someone to say yes, but there are an enormous number of hoops to jump through before any deal can be finalised.
Lamborghini Aventador
Tue, 15 Mar 2011A clear evolution of both the Murcielago and the Reventon, the Aventador dissapointed and wowed in equal measure at its unveiling. Showcasing Lamborghini's newfound love for carbon fiber as well as an exhaustive list of new technologies for their road cars – such as a pushrod suspension – the Aventador certainly has a supercar-style spec sheet. The V12 engine used in the Aventador is also all-new and when combined with the lightweight carbon monocoque chassis is claimed to provide blistering performance, albeit in an unrevolutionary body. More images of the Aventador, as well as the opinion of Chris Bangle, can be found through the links: Photo Gallery: Lamborghini Aventador Video: Chris Bangle on Supercars
Saab owners Spyker NV to become Swedish Automobile NV
Mon, 23 May 2011Is the rain coming to an end at Saab? In the seemingly never-ending saga of Spyker and Saab it does now seem likely that the deal we reported last week with Chinese distributors Pang Da is going to pan out. The messy-looking deal with Pang Da has seen the beleaguered Dutch car maker receiving €30 million already from the cash-rich Chinese, which it’s using to pay-off its suppliers in an attempt to get production lines rolling again in Trollhattan.
