Skoda Superb (2008): first official pictures
Wed, 09 Jan 2008By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 09 January 2008 10:58 Skoda’s biggest car – the Superb – will be replaced in autumn 2008. The new Superb is unveiled today ahead of its show debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March – and it’s received a welcome dose of style over today’s taxi-special that majors on a vast, echoing interior over any recognisable form of chic. The new Superb is even bigger than the current model; this one is 4838mm long and 1783mm wide, but it’s slightly lower than before for a sleeker, lower look.
HRE introduces retro Vintage Series wheels
Tue, 07 Feb 2012First of all, we'd like to point out that under no circumstance--ever--is Brush Script an acceptable typographic substitute when Porsche's iconic Carrera script needs to be replicated. Punto e basta. With that out of the way, we'll admit to rather liking HRE's new BBS-esque 501 wheels, and the 288-GTO-style five-spoke 505s are the very essence of sweet-on-sweet when bolted to a Ferrari 458 Italia.
Bentley SUV (Falcon) to be built in Slovakia?
Wed, 20 Mar 2013Bentley says it has 2000 pre-orders for the Bentley Falcon SUV and that it is possible the Bentley won’t be built in Crewe but in Bratislava. January’s news was that the Bentley SUV was close to being signed-off for production (we’ve heard that once or twice) and in February we learnt that Bentley have gone back to the drawing board to produce a new design under the watchful eye of Luc Donckerwolke, Bentley’s Chief Designer, which we expect to be a more dynamic one with cues from the Continental, rather than a square truck with Mulsanne headlights. So now it’s time for the March instalment of ‘Bentley SUV News‘, and we have Bentley boss Wolfgang Schreiber telling us that Bentley already has 2,000 pre-orders for their SUV (we’re guessing ‘expressions of interest’ may be closer to the truth) before the new design is shown, and before Bentley has decided whether they want to pitch their SUV just above the new Range Rover at around £150k, or do what Bentley dealers want which is a Bentley SUV costing north of £200k.
