Volkswagen Golf Economy Range launched

Volkswagen has released a range of Eco cars - The VW Golf Economy Range With the obsession by car makers with CO2 emissions (but only because Governments structure their targets on CO2 levels) the aim of these Eco Golfs is to trim CO2 levels down, and they’ve succeeded in getting the whole Golf Economy Range under 120g/km, and the Golf BlueMotion down to 107g/km. Three versions of the 1.6 TDi are offered – a 90PS version, a 105PS version and a 105PS BlueMotion version. VW has achieved the lower emissions with aerodynamic tweaks, longer gear ratios and regenerative braking.

Chrysler 300 gets luxury upgrades

The Chrysler Group rolled out its latest entry for the lucrative "black car" market on Tuesday, revealing new "Luxury Series" editions of its flagship Chrysler 300 sedan that add new interiors to recent powertrain additions. The new versions feature leather-wrapped interior components. The vehicles also have heated steering wheels with special die-cast paddle shifters and wood trim, according to a Chrysler statement.

In addition to holiday-themed displays assembled by junkyard employees and the occasional sad, flood-victim Volvo Amazon, I frequently find homemade mix CDs and cassette tapes while prowling through wrecking yards. In fact, it would be possible to go into just about any high-inventory-turnover self-service wrecking yard in North America and come away with several dozen such discs and tapes, if anybody ever felt motivated to do such a thing.
